This object, a pendulum created in the second quarter of the 19th Century, was made in a style commonly found duing the reign of Louis XVI. The gilt bronze clock, stood on a white marble plinth, has a peculiar means of telling the time. In a 'cercles tournants', the hands of the clock rotate around the neck of the decorative vase. Sold at "The Gilded Age Revisited: Property from a Distinguished American Collection", February 2019 - Estimate, $4,000-6,000, sold for $5,625.
